How far can Heaven be?
Is it in the evening sky?
I wonder if you see me here,
From your place on the other side?
At dusk on the 4th, fireworks will begin,
And they will fill a darkened sky,
Will you be there in the midst of them,
My Sweet Angel soaring high.
Will you see the parade of colors?
The spectacular view of lights?
Will you be watching from above,
On that 4th of July night?
Will you fly between the rockets?
Catch a roman candle with delight?
Will you dance within the beauty,
Of the colors in the sky?
Will you sing unto the heavens,
Our National Anthem song?
Will I hear your sweet angel voice,
As you proudly sing along?
I'll send you up balloons,
And fill them with all my love.
I hope that you will catch them,
In heaven up above.
When the Grand Finale ends,
And only stars light up the sky,
I know that you will have been there,
In the splendor on the fourth of July.
